Unfortunately our beloved potatoes belong to the nightshade (Solanaceae) family which contains the alkaloid solanine.
Alkaloids protect the plant from pests and help with growth. For people with sensitive systems due to previous illness, extended periods of stress, HSPs, Empaths, etc. potatoes are toxic to them.
Some people and practitioners will even connect the above mentioned symptoms to their illnesses, however, research shows that these foods actually exacerbate many conditions including, but not limited to autoimmune and digestive issues.
Have concerns about potatoes now? Try removing them from your diet for 1-4 weeks. The longer you remove them from your diet, it will be clear if you have symptoms when you reintroduce them back into your diet.
